Good day everyone! The next test date for Aiki-Kids will be on Saturday Nov 1st. Test preparation is already underway and we are excited to see so many new white belts looking forward to their first aikido test experience. In the next week, we will be deciding who is ready to test and an invite will be emailed to you individually by the beginning of next week. Good day everyone! Our next kyu test for youth and adults is Saturday, September 13th, 2014 during normal class hours. Test preparation is already underway. Students can view our Videos of How-To Ukemi to kick start test preparation. The test requirements for 2014 is here. Most students have viewed youtube videos in the past to polish their techniques prior to class. Happy summer everyone! We are excited to announced the next test date for Aiki-Kids ONLY is now scheduled on Saturday, July 19th, 2014. This year, we have made some changes to our current Aiki-Kids syllabus in order to make the junior black belt more accessible to everyone. We have included the syllabus here for your reference. Happy June everyone! This coming Saturday is "Parents Day" at Aikido Del Mar. Kids and youth students will have a chance to bring their parents to play on the mats from 10am-11am before the onset of our regular classes. This is a great opportunity for parents to support their children's growth and aikido practice. It is also a fun way for all of us to play together and build a stronger bond with one another. Exciting NEWS - we are expanding into the main Games Room at the Boys and Girls Club starting May 3rd, 2014! This date also marks the sixth year anniversary of the establishment of Aikido of Del Mar. We are very thankful for all of your contributions for making our dojo such a wonderful place to train. Due to this expansion and some other changes occurring within the Boys and Girls Club, we will no longer be keeping our Monday and Wednesday classes, instead, our weekday classes will be moved to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Good day everyone! We will be hosting kenshu class on the following dates from 1:30-3:00pm. The adult class will end early at 1:30pm to accommodate. Students in preparation for brown belt test and shodan students are invited to join. Please be warmed up and ready to start on time. Thanks to everyone we had a great turnout for Kagami Biraki this year. Our friends from Encinitas Aikido also came to this special event to help us renewal our dedication in all of our trainings. We are happy to see good focused demonstrations and many smiling faces celebrating with us for another year with Aikido of Del Mar. As a renewal for our aikido training, the youth class already started setting tangible targets to challenge themselves to do their very best. 明けましておめでとうございます! Happy New Year! It is that time again where Aikido of Del Mar is putting on our biggest event of the year. We are excited to officially kick start our training this year by a tradition of reflecting on the past and rededicating to the new — come and join us to celebrate Kagami Biraki (鏡開き) on Saturday, Jan 18th from 11am-1pm.
