When I first started Aikido, I didn't know what it was. I thought it was like all the other martial arts. After training for about a year or so, I understood that unlike other martial arts, you have to use the other person's aggressive energy and turn it into your own peaceful energy. Happy New Year Everyone, I wish you and your family a wonderful 2015. Tomorrow marks the first day of aikido for the new year and to kick start our training I would like to share a letter from a highly respected teacher to his students below.
