Good day everyone! Our next test date has been scheduled on Saturday, April 19th, 2014 during normal class hours. Only less than 3 weeks away – test preparation is underway in all classes as a result.

For our new students, this is a very exciting time to learn new things and get ready to progress onto the next level. It is very important for parents to set some time aside at home to support your child(ren) in this new beginning. For most beginners – children and adults alike, the most difficult part of the test is the ukemi – back breakfall, forward roll, and backward roll. Parents and students, you can view our Videos of How-To Ukemi  to kick start test preparation at home. We have found in the past that those spent time at home to watch the videos several times a week have much more confident facing the actual testing then those who did not.

For the youth and adult students, you can take advantage of the open-mat time prior to the adult class from 7:15-7:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Instructors will be around for questions and individualized help. Note, this coming weekend will conclude our brown belt class, so make use of the open-mat time instead.

Aikido is not about doing everything perfectly all the time, but the commitment in trying our best with everything we do, and the continuing dedication and hard-work we put into each and every moment. We are looking forward to the next three weeks leading into testing!
