Registration is now open for the November Utada Kancho Seminar - come and join the FUN! This 3-day seminar includes beach bokken training, explanation of all controls, focused weapons training, and the philosophical and mystical aspects of aikido. Don't forget to bring a notebook! Some of you have attended last year's session with an introduction to attack and counter-attacks using the bokken, jo, and tanto. I have heard from several students that they really enjoyed this new form of weapons training we don't normally teach in our dojo. Some students enjoyed using the internal movement of ki to unbalance uke. [...]

Good day everyone! As the month of May comes to a close, we are excited to announce the youth class Spirit Award goes to one of our new students Arian! In the past few months, Arian dedicated himself to his training by always giving 100%. It doesn't matter if he's leading warm ups or learning a new technique, Arian is able to not give himself excuses, and always striving to do his best in each moment. Even during challenging times, Arian is still able to take some time out, calm himself, and jump back into the training with a refreshed outlook. We all benefit [...]

Morihei Uyeshiba (1883-1968) became a recognized master of aiki-jujutsu and several other arts. As he matured he became a strong proponent of non-aggression. In 1925, he organized a style of budo ("the way of the warrior") to assist his own spiritual and physical development. The result was modern Aikido.
